Although the Azera name is no longer used in North America,
its successor — known as the Grandeur in Korea,
still thrives in its home market and is also sold as
the Azera in regions like the Middle East.

Not agile but comfortable.

🚫 Optional Features Not Included

Even though this is a top-tier Calligraphy trim,
the following were intentionally excluded:

Still, the car feels nothing short of premium.

πŸ§‘‍πŸ’Ό Why I’m Reviewing This

This isn’t my daily driver.

It belongs to my uncle, who received it through
his company’s vehicle program.

I had the chance to drive and photograph the car
over the weekend, and I wanted to give non-Korean readers
a peek into what they’re missing.

🚘 First Impressions

This isn’t your average Hyundai.
The proportions are stretched and executive,
with crisp LED lighting front and rear,
flush door handles, and a luxury-inspired grille.

The “Organic Bronze” paint is subtle but classy — definitely different from the silvers
and blacks we usually see.

It has a quiet confidence, just like the car itself.

πŸ›‹️ Inside – Surprisingly Luxurious

If someone blindfolded you and placed you in this cabin,
you might think you were in a Genesis.
The materials are soft-touch,
the layout is clean, and there’s tech everywhere:

  • Augmented Reality (AR) Navigation

  • Dual 12.3” displays

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto

  • Premium BOSE sound system

  • Ventilated (cooled) and heated seats front and rear heated seats

  • Hyundai’s built-in dashcam system

  • Driver’s Ergo Motion Seat (with air cushions for fatigue relief)

  • Ambient lighting throughout

⚙️ On the Road – Smooth & Quiet

The 1.6L turbo hybrid system isn’t meant for aggressive driving.
But for everyday cruising and long-distance comfort, it’s excellent.

The transition between EV and gas is nearly imperceptible,
and the ride is soft without being floaty.

Thanks to the smaller wheels and lack of a panoramic roof,
the cabin stays quiet and insulated.

It honestly drives like a more laid-back Genesis.

πŸ“Œ Final Thoughts – Why You Should Care

You can’t buy this car in the U.S., and Hyundai has no plans to export it.

That’s a shame.

Affordable business sedan

The Grandeur Hybrid proves that Hyundai can build
a luxury car outside the Genesis brand — and do it well.
If you're into JDM cars and imports,
it’s time to start paying attention to KDM, too.

The Grandeur is one of the most refined and understated sedans I’ve driven this year.
